Hilton’s profits up in Q2:  Hilton Worldwide reported net income of US$209 million for the second quarter of 2014, compared to US$155 million for the same period in 2013.

Far East-Toga JV buys 4 hotels in Europe:  Far East Hospitality Holdings and Toga Group bought three hotels in Germany — the 127-room Adina Apartment Hotel Berlin Checkpoint Charlie, the 134-room Adina Apartment Hotel Frankfurt Neue Oper and the 139-room Adina Apartment Hotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof — and one hotel in Denmark, the 128-room Adina Apartment Hotel Copenhagen from Toga Accommodation Fund. The hotels have a valuation of €107.1 million (US$143.8 million).

DoubleTree to expand in Australia:  Hilton Worldwide signed an agreement to open the 237-room DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns in the fourth quarter.
