Even adds 2nd hotel in NYC:  IHG announced that it signed an agreement with an ownership group led by Frank Chan and Lance Steinberg to manage an Even Hotels-branded 150-room hotel at 321 West 35th Street in midtown Manhattan, set to open in mid-2015.

Super 8 expands in Turkey:  Wyndham Hotel Group announced that it signed a development agreement with Ilbak Turizm Isletmeleri Ve Yatirim A.S. for 20 Super 8-branded hotels in Turkey over the next 10 years.

Hersha buys Florida hotel:  Hersha Hospitality Trust announced that it signed an agreement to purchase the 140-room Residence Inn Coconut Grove for US$21.8 million.

Outrigger buys Mauritius hotel:  Outrigger Hotels and Resorts announced that it bought the 181-room Mövenpick Resort and Spa Mauritius from Kingdom Hotel Investments for an undisclosed sum.

 


Sage sells 4 hotels to Blackstone:  Sage Hospitality announced that it will retain management of four hotels it sold to Blackstone Real Estate Partners, including Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Perimeter Center, Hilton Garden Inn Denver South Meridian, located in Englewood, Colorado, Hilton Garden Inn Orlando at SeaWorld, located in Orlando, Florida, and Homewood Suites SFO Airport North, located in Brisbane, California.

Vail expands in Utah:  Vail Resorts signed an agreement with Talisker Corp. to operate the Canyons Resort, located in Park City.

Driftwood expands in Florida:  Driftwood Hospitality Management announced that it signed an agreement with Mazex Holdings to operate the 148-room Clarion Hotel – Convention Center Deland. The hotel will undergo a US$3 million renovation.

 


Chicago hotel strike ends after 10 years:  A 10-year strike organized by Unite Here at the 851-room Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center ended without any concessions from management.
