NYC’s Flatotel to be converted to condos:  The 289-room Flatotel, located on West 52nd Street has been sold for US$180 million by Joseph Chetrit and David Bistricer, who will convert it to condominiums.

Accor launches new mobile apps:  Accor announced new mobile applications on Android, iOS and Blackberry operating systems for its Ibis brand and accorhotels.com.

 


US hotel openings to increase:  55,080 guestrooms are set to open in 2013 for a 1.1% increase in the US hotel supply, while in 2014 66,102 rooms, a 1.3% supply increase is expected, according to new data from Lodging Econometrics.

Thailand hotel loses IHG management:  Regent Group announced that IHG’s five-year management of the 560-room Holiday Inn Resort Regent Cha-am has ended, and the hotel has been renamed the Regent Cha-am.
