JV buying DC Courtyard:  A joint venture of Capstone Development and Quadrangle Development bought the 146-room Courtyard Washington, DC/Dupont Circle for US$43.5 million from The Doyle Collection.

IHG confirms Australia brand entry:  IHG confirmed on Monday news from last week that its Holiday Inn Express brand will enter Australia with a hotel in Perth.

Wyndham rebrands San Diego hotel:  The 600-room Holiday Inn San Diego rebranded as Wyndham San Diego Bayside and Wyndham Hotel Group has taken over management of the hotel, in an agreement with the hotel owner FelCor Lodging Trust.

Atlanta Marriott rebrands:  Hilton Worldwide announced it will rebrand the 312-room Atlanta Marriott Downtown to DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Downtown on April 1.

PM expands in Virginia:  PM Hospitality Strategies announced that it took over management of the 87-room Hampton Inn Potomac Mills/Woodbridge and the 84-room Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, Dulles Airport Chantilly.


Hyatt to expand in Mexico:  Hyatt Hotels Corp. will open the 151-room Hyatt Place La Paz in 2014 adjacent to the CostaBaja resort complex.


Midas, Sintel to develop Ohio hotels:  Midas Hospitality announced on Sunday that it will develop a 100-room Residence Inn by Marriott in Dublin for US$13 million and Sintel Group will develop a 95-room Staybridge Suites in Columbus for between US$10 million and US$12 million.
