Radisson Blu grows in UK: Carlson Rezidor will open the Radisson Blu Hotel, Birmingham airport in 2017. This will be Carlson Rezidor’s 15th hotel in the country.

Revel’s third bid unsuccessful: Advisors for the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, failed to get approval for an agreement to sell the hotel for US$82 million. Revel had asked Burns to approve the sale agreement with Glenn Straub, who failed to close a prior sale agreement.

Nashville rates increase: According to Hotel.com’s latest Hotel Price Index survey, Nashville’s average hotel room rate had the biggest price increase among the top 50 U.S. destinations in 2014. The average price of a hotel room increased 15%, jumping to US$164 in 2014 from US$142 in 2013.

Hotel Equities to operate new Texas Fairfield: Hotel Equities was selected as the management firm for the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott under development in Waxahachie, Texas. The hotel is expected to break ground in April and open in 2016.

 


Westcliff Hotel sold: Westcliff Hotel in South Essex was sold in an off-market deal to MGM Muthu Hotels for an undisclosed sum.
