New training program aims to safeguard G6 hotels

G6 Hospitality, parent company of Motel 6 and Studio 6, has launched SHIELD6, a safety training program aimed at hotel owners, managers and their teams.

The program targets hotels where recent guest feedback points to an opportunity to strengthen safety, giving those properties support from the G6 Safety & Security and Brand Performance teams. Sessions review safety practices and law enforcement trends and introduce tools including Delight IQ, Room Next Door Training for prevention of human trafficking, the G6 Hotline training, the Do Not Rent Policy and G6’s safety resource guides.

“Safety of our guests is a priority for us and therefore, across all Motel 6 and Studio 6 properties nationwide, our owners and their teams are the ones keeping that promise every single day, on the frontlines” said Ankit Tandon, vice chairman of G6 Hospitality. “SHIELD6 is our way of standing beside them in that effort, giving them direct access to our Safety & Security experts, real-world training and the resources to turn safety into a lasting advantage for the business and the communities.”

Training is delivered regionally by the G6 Safety & Security Team, joined by hotel general managers, owners and G6 directors of Brand Performance.

“Our goal with SHIELD6 is to make sure every enrolled franchisee has direct, ongoing access to our team, not just a one-time training session,” said Anuj Ladha, national head of brand performance of G6 Hospitality. “Safety is an evolving conversation, and this program keeps our owners, managers and their staff connected to the latest tools, guidance and resources they need to protect their guests and their business.”

G6 Hospitality LLC, part of the PRISM portfolio, has more than 1,500 locations under the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in the U.S. and Canada.
