New DC-area hotel shows Redskins spirit

The under-construction Homewood Suites by Hilton in Springfield, Virginia — near Washington, D.C. — is showing its support for the hometown Washington Redskins of the National Football League at its upcoming job fair in a unique way.

In honor of Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, better known as “RGIII,” the hotel said in a news release it plans to give extra consideration to job applicants with the initials “RG” or the designation “III.”

“Like everyone else in the Washington area, we have RGIII fever,” said Chris Tyner, general manager of the hotel, which is scheduled to open in January. “To show our support of the Redskins we are giving extra consideration to job candidates with those initials. We’re looking for 35 men and women, regardless of their initials, who can provide the same sort of excitement and flawless execution to our guests that RGIII does on the football field.”
