Aimbridge Hospitality announced on Tuesday that it has set up Channel Point, a wholly owned and operated subsidiary, to manage and rebrand the Jameson Inn portfolio.
Tony Maness, previously the executive vice president of operations for Jameson Brands at Park Management Group, has been appointed vice president of operations for Channel Point.
Aimbridge Hospitality, Plano, Texas, plans to rebrand the 103 hotels to “nationally recognized” flags. The hotels are located in 12 Southeastern U.S. states.
In January 2012, an investment vehicle managed by affiliates of Colony Capital, Santa Monica, California, including Colony Financial Inc., assumed ownership of the portfolio of hotels. In addition, a fund affiliated with the principals of Aimbridge Hospitality and Argonaut Private Equity acquired a minority economic stake in the hotel portfolio.
“We are pleased to partner with Aimbridge and its proven team, which has already completed the management transition with minimal disruption,” said Thomas Barrack Jr., chairman and CEO of Colony Capital.
The portfolio of hotels, located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, totals 7,000 guestrooms and 1,700 associates.
