Monte-Carlo SBM names new deputy CEO

Monte-Carlo SBM, operators of four luxury hotels in Monte Carlo, has appointed Isabelle Simon deputy CEO to oversee various aspects of the company’s business, particularly the group’s strategic development both within and outside the Principality of Monaco, online gaming, and the marketing and legal departments. Bernard Lambert, former CEO, recently left the company.

Concurrently, CFO Yves de Toytot will become deputy CEO of finance, charged with overseeing finance, IT, the company’s holdings, and the relationship with the stock exchange authorities.

These appointments are part of the decision of the board of directors to strengthen the senior management to more rapidly grow the company, both within and outside the Monaco.

Monte-Carlo SBM is developing a hotel in Marrakech, Morocco, that is expected to open in 2013. It has also announced plans in the Middle East and Europe to grow its beach club concept.

Jean-Luc Biamonti, chairman of the board of Monte-Carlo SBM, stated, “Isabelle’s dual international background, in finance and law, and her experience of key strategic issues developed at one of the leading worldwide communications groups, will be extremely valuable in these times of challenge and opportunity.”

Previously, in 2009, Simon became senior vice president at Publicis Groupe overseeing the mergers and acquisitions and legal departments, and monitoring minority holdings and the group’s external development strategy.
