Hilton Garden Inn New York/Manhattan-Midtown East has completed a property-wide renovation covering guestrooms, public spaces, dining offerings and guest amenities. The project introduces flexible accommodations and a redesigned social space with entertainment options for guests and local residents. The 207-room hotel is located in Midtown East, providing access to New York City’s business, cultural and entertainment destinations.
Baskervill led the transformation, building on the Bloom design scheme of the Hilton Garden Inn. The firm added textures, finishes and a blue color palette accented with yellow throughout the property.
“Our goal with this renovation was to create a hospitality experience that represents how people gather, work, and travel today,” said Joel Ruiz, general manager of Hilton Garden Inn New York/Manhattan-Midtown East. “From overnight guests seeking a convenient home base in Manhattan to local residents looking for a welcoming place to meet, dine, or unwind, the redesigned hotel offers spaces that bring people together while responding to various needs and occasions. We are proud to introduce this next chapter for the hotel and its role within the Midtown East community.”
The lobby now includes banquettes, communal tables and updated lighting. The renovation also covered the hotel’s marketplace, laundry facilities, business center and fitness center.

All 207 rooms include new furnishings, larger work surfaces and updated hospitality centers with microwaves, mini-fridges and Keurig coffee makers. Rooms also feature charging ports, adjustable reading lamps, laptop-sized safes, blackout curtains, Digital Key access, complimentary Wi-Fi and 55-inch HDTVs with streaming capability.
The property includes 14 convertible room types with integrated wall beds. The hotel is currently the only Hilton Garden Inn property offering this room configuration. Workspace Rooms, designed for up to four people, include a fold-away conference table and can connect to an adjacent king guest room to form a two-room suite. Studio rooms convert from a daytime living area to a king-bed bedroom at night and can connect with adjacent king or two-queen guestrooms.
The Back Room Restaurant & Bar serves breakfast, dinner and evening cocktails and includes a new Smash Burger and a cocktail program. The space features a bar, pool table, arcade games and a commissioned art piece titled Speakeasy Subway.
In partnership with Mindclick, the renovation incorporated reclaimed wood fiber furnishings, recycled nylon carpeting, GREENGUARD-certified furniture and low-VOC finishes. LED lighting and AtmosAir air-purification technology were installed throughout the property.
The hotel, located on East 52nd Street, is within walking distance of Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, Broadway theaters, the Museum of Modern Art and the United Nations Headquarters.
Additional amenities include a fitness center with a Peloton Bike and Precor equipment, and pet-friendly accommodations with pet beds, water bowls and waste bags.
The hotel is also introducing “A New Tune in Midtown,” a limited-time package that includes a self-guided walking map of Midtown music destinations, a curated Spotify playlist and two Back Room Backstage Drink Passes redeemable at The Back Room Restaurant & Bar.
