MGM’s Vegas Monte Carlo lures Blue Man Group from Venetian

LAS VEGAS MGM Resorts International’s Monte Carlo Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip will welcome the world-renowned entertainment sensation Blue Man Group to the Monte Carlo Theater beginning in fall 2012. The popular show is currently in residence up the Strip at The Venetian.

The “mega-enhanced show,” as MGM is referring to it, will feature new material under a creative partnership between Monte Carlo and Blue Man Group. The new production will be held in the 1,200-seat Monte Carlo Theater, currently home to hip-hop dance crew Jabbawockeez. The two shows will share co-headliner status.

“When it comes to world-class entertainment, Blue Man Group is the epitome of dynamic creativity, explosive energy and endearing playfulness,” says Anton Nikodemus, president and COO of Monte Carlo. “We are confident this experience will be infused in their production at Monte Carlo and look forward to integrating new concepts that will enhance their visibility at the property.”

Blue Man Group is known for its theatrical shows that combine music, comedy and multimedia elements and theatrics to produce a unique form of entertainment art. “We were attracted by the great theater, but we were equally attracted by the team at Monte Carlo and MGM Resorts International, as well as their vision for creating unique and entertaining experiences for their customers,” says group cofounder Chris Wink. “We look forward to adding our unique brand of music, fun and curiosity into the mix to help them achieve that vision.”

The Las Vegas Sands Corp.-owned Venetian has not yet announced plans to replace Blue Man Group.
