Arne Sorenson, president and CEO of Marriott International, wrote an open letter to U.S. president-elect Donald Trump on LinkedIn, in which he congratulated the hotelier and urged him to disprove his critics and continue the attitude of inclusion that Trump reflected in his acceptance speech last week.
“All of us want you, and the nation you will serve, to be successful,” wrote Sorenson, who asked Trump to heal divides around LGBT, minority and gender issues, and to focus on infrastructure issues. He also urged the president-elect to “keep the welcome mat out for foreign travelers” who support more than two million jobs in the U.S.
