Marriott Marquis Houston has completed a comprehensive renovation of its 1,000 guestrooms and 150,000 square feet of meetings and event space in downtown Houston.
The updated guestrooms feature custom carpet, furnishings and upholstery in warm earth tones with western-inspired patterns, alongside curated artwork referencing Houston’s identity including an astronaut piece nodding to the city’s “Space City” designation and a reproduction of the “Be Someone” mural from the Houston Arts District. New furniture incorporates natural wood grains, leather and metallic finishes.
The hotel’s meeting and event spaces, including the Texas Ballroom, have been redesigned with updated interiors. The property connects directly to the George R. Brown Convention Center and is positioned ahead of upcoming events, including the World Baseball Classic and FIFA World Cup 2026.
“As Houston’s status as an international destination for global business and entertainment continues to rise, we sought to elevate the guest experience by combining the Marriott brand’s signature reliability with the unique spirit of the city,” said Thomas Inasu, hotel manager at the Marriott Marquis Houston. “We aren’t just updating spaces; we are setting the stage for world-class events and personal milestones that define our community. This property-wide transformation is our way of ensuring that our experience is one of sophistication, innovation, and unmatched hospitality.”
The property also includes a rooftop infinity pool, a Texas-shaped lazy river, six restaurants and bars, including Biggio’s Sports Bar and Xochi by James Beard winning chef and walkable access to Discovery Green, Daikin Park, Toyota Center and Shell Energy Stadium.
