Marriott expects India RevPAR to grow 10% this year

INDIA Marriott International expects RevPAR for its India properties to increase by 10% to 12% this year, which would surpass the 8% growth the company saw in 2010 in the country.

Marriott’s India ADR will be 5% to 10% higher this year, according to Rajeev Menon, area vice president for India, Malaysia and Maldives.

“The growth [in RevPAR] will be driven by both, an increase in occupancy and rates,” Menon tells Reuters.

Marriott has 12 hotels open in India and plans to add six more during 2011. It aims to surpass 100 India properties by 2015.
