Marriott International announced plans to expand its luxury portfolio in Peru through two hotel conversions in Lima, with both properties set to officially join new brand portfolios in 2028.
As part of the conversions, the current JW Marriott Hotel Lima in Miraflores will become The Ritz-Carlton, Lima, while the former The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center in Paseo Begonias, San Isidro, will be repositioned as the JW Marriott Hotel Lima.
According to Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton, Lima, is expected to become the second Ritz-Carlton property in South America. The company said the additions will place Lima within its global luxury portfolio as South America continues to emerge within the international luxury travel market.
“The transformation of the two properties represents a milestone for the evolution of hospitality in Lima and reinforces the city’s growing presence on the global travel map as a dynamic urban center,” said Walter Regidor. “As travelers look beyond traditional luxury markets, Lima stands out for its cultural richness, culinary leadership, and vibrant urban energy.”
Marriott said the repositioning of the hotel as JW Marriott Hotel Lima reflects the company’s continued investment in luxury hospitality across the region. The property is designed to bring JW Marriott’s approach to well-being, service and travel experiences to Lima’s business and convention district.
The company added that the new JW Marriott Hotel Lima is expected to strengthen Paseo Begonias as a mixed-use urban destination integrating office, retail and hospitality offerings.
The conversions also expand Marriott’s luxury presence in Peru, which includes properties in Cusco such as Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa; JW Marriott El Convento Cusco; Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel and Hotel Paracas, a Luxury Collection Resort.
