Mandarin Oriental reveals new luxury resort in Càlvia, Mallorca

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that it will manage a new beach resort in one of Mallorca’s most desirable locations, scheduled to open in the second half of 2024.

The new luxury resort is being developed by Blasson Property Investments of Spain and will include a significant reconstruction and redesign of the former H10 Punta Negra hotel, which sits on an iconic peninsula on the Costa d’en Blanes in the island’s southwest. The hotel will be renamed Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca once the renovations are completed.

The soon-to-open resort will have 131 guestrooms, including 44 suites and nine bungalows located just steps from the beach. The accommodations will feature full or partial sea views, outdoor terraces or balconies, and some will have private panoramic plunge pools.

The resort’s new contemporary design is being created by HKS, Estudio Lamela, while award-winning designer Laura Gonzalez oversees the interior design, which includes many local cultural references.

“We are delighted at this opportunity to bring Mandarin Oriental’s legendary service to this extraordinary beachfront resort in the Balearics, and we look forward to collaborating with Blasson Property Investments to develop a luxury hotel that will be designed and constructed with a strong sustainability ethos. Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca will be a welcome complement to our hotels in Barcelona and Madrid. We are extremely pleased to be expanding Mandarin Oriental’s presence into another important leisure destination in Europe,” said James Riley, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
