The 183-room Loews Denver Hotel has been sold by Loews Hotels and is set to close for renovations ahead of a rebranding.
Loews Hotels, New York City, confirmed that it closed the sale of the hotel to an undisclosed buyer on December 20, 2012. The hotel will close in February for renovations that will last a few months.
The Denver Business Journal reported that Hyatt Hotels Corp., Chicago, is speculated to have bought the property and will convert it to one of its brands. Hyatt has not confirmed this.
Loews bought the hotel in 1989 for US$5 million.
