LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND Developers are planning to convert the historic Martins Bank in Liverpool into what would be the city’s first 5-star hotel, and Waldorf Astoria is among the brands reportedly under consideration.
A preliminary proposal submitted to city officials by Castlewood Property Management indicates that an 150-key luxury hotel is among the preferred uses for the vacant 11-story building. The project would include a restaurant and spa.
Sources tell Manchester Confidential that Hilton Worldwide’s Waldorf Astoria brand is being considered. Neither Castlewood nor Hilton has confirmed the report.
