Le Méridien, Washington, D.C., The Madison, has appointed Matt Sommers as its general manager. Sommers brings two decades of hospitality leadership experience spanning luxury, lifestyle and full-service hotels.

Most recently, Sommers served as general manager of YOTEL Washington D.C., where he spearheaded post-pandemic revitalization of the property and modernized technology infrastructure. Before YOTEL, he held the position of director of operations for Westin D.C. City Center and general manager of Capitol Hill Hotel. Sommers’ career also includes leadership positions with MGM Resorts International, as well as Forbes Five-Star Salamander Middleburg, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Fairmont Heritage Place Franz Klammer Lodge and Monte Carlo Resort and Casino (now Park MGM).
