Langham signs three hotel management deals in China

Langham Hospitality Group has, for the first time, secured three management deals in the same plot. The hotel operator has signed management agreements for three new hotels, which will be part of the Xiamen Seaworld, China Merchants Group’s (CMG) mixed-use development on the western shore of Xiamen’s main island.

The hotels are expected to open in 2025 under three different brands from Langham’s portfolio. The brands include Langham’s flagship The Langham Hotels & Resorts (catering to the luxury segment), Cordis Hotels & Resorts and Ying’nFlo, which will serve the upscale and midscale select service segments, respectively.

This trio of properties will join Langham’s existing Xiamen portfolio, which includes Langham Place, taking the total number of hotels across China to 20.

The keen interest in Langham’s brands is a testament to the group’s success in elevating them to capitalize on the recovery of China’s hospitality industry, LHG CEO Bob van den Oord. “The Langham, Cordis and Ying’nFlo will serve as iconic additions to Xiamen Seaworld, a visionary complex that we are proud to be part of. They will also bolster our presence in a vibrant city that continues to show great promise.”

CMG’s first Seaworld complex to be located outside of Shenzhen, Xiamen Seaworld is situated in the Dongdu Free Trade Zone, enabling the two towers to house the hotels with unobstructed ocean views and Huweishan Park.

The Langham, Xiamen Seaworld will occupy the larger of the buildings. The hotel will feature a sky lobby on the top floor, offering guests views from the point of check-in.

The property will offer The Langham Grand Ballroom, one of the city’s largest private event spaces covering 880 square meters. The ballroom will be close to the meeting rooms, which will span 1,200 square meters.

Ample space will be allocated for culinary venues, including a branch of the Palm Court. Its original location at The Langham London has been renowned for serving iconic afternoon tea for over a century.

The Langham will also offer T’ang Court, an offshoot of the three-Michelin-starred The Langham, Hong Kong.

Guests can access Langham’s iconic traditional Chinese medicine-influences wellness hub, Chuan Spa. Guests can also enjoy its several in-room services, such as the Sleep Matters Turndown Kits.

Cordis, Xiamen, Seaworld will be housed in the second tower and feature in-room services. Guests staying here will access The Langham’s ballroom and meeting and event facilities and benefit from a reciprocal arrangement enabling them to use the Cordis’ 543-square-meter ballroom and 755 square meters of meeting facilities.

The second tower will also house Langham’s first mainland China branch of Ying’nFlo. The rooms will include adaptable furniture and updated technology features. The property will also have the signature House of Ying’nFlo open space.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Great Eagle Holdings, Langham Hospitality’s portfolio of brands includes the Langham Hotels and Resorts, Cordis Hotels, Eaton and Ying’nFlo. The group has over 30 developments either confirmed or in various stages of negotiation in Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
