Langham Hospitality Group’s Cordis Hotels & Resorts brand has opened Cordis, Xi’an in Airport New City, a district adjacent to the fifth terminal at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, the primary aviation hub serving the Xi’an and Xianyang metropolitan areas. The hotel’s design blends Tang Dynasty-inspired elements with references to Xi’an’s history as China’s imperial capital and the starting point of the Silk Road.
Xi’an is known for landmarks including the Terracotta Warriors, the old City Wall and the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and serves as a major economic hub. Airport New City is positioned as a base for exploring the city’s heritage sites and commercial activity.
The hotel includes 252 guestrooms and suites along with dining, wellness and event facilities. Features include a pillarless ballroom modeled on Silk Road-era mansions, a Ming Court restaurant serving Cantonese and Shaanxi cuisine and a guestroom design based on the three-courtyard layout associated with the Tang Dynasty.
The hotel was developed in partnership with Xi’an Hao Rui Property Co., Ltd. and is intended to serve both business and leisure travelers with a combination of international service standards and local character.
“Xi’an is entering an exciting new phase of growth, driven by its continued role as a tourist destination and expanding importance as a commercial center,” said Bob van den Oord, CEO of Langham Hospitality Group. “We see strong demand for a hotel capable of serving the broad range of experiences visitors to the city now seek, whether for personal or professional endeavors. Cordis, Xi’an is well positioned to meet that demand, embodying the Cordis ethos of helping guests pursue what matters most to them.”
The opening coincides with the brand’s “Let Your Heart Rule” campaign, derived from the Latin meaning of Cordis, “of the heart.” At Cordis, Xi’an, the campaign will be reflected in dining, wellness, leisure and business offerings tied to the destination.
