Lanesborough to close for 9-month refresh

One of London’s iconic luxury hotels, The Lanesborough, will close at the end of 2013 for a nine-month renovation.

The major refurbishment of the 93-room hotel, managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts St. Regis brand and led by HOTELS Magazine’s 2011 Independent Hotelier of the World Geoffrey Gelardi, will focus on guestrooms and public spaces designed by the late Alberto Pinto, who died last year after completing the schemes for this renovation.

This news marks the first time the hotel has undergone a major renovation since its opening in 1991.
