Jumeirah to manage Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome

Dubai-based Jumeirah Group has been appointed to manage the Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome starting in early 2012, when the property will be rebranded as Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto, Rome.

The hotel has 122 rooms and suites, two fine-dining restaurants, an award-winning bar, a rooftop solarium and the Aqva City spa. Complementing wood furniture handmade by Italian master craftsmen are large, custom-made Murano glass chandeliers, black granite floors and travertine stairways. The hotel has an art collection of oil paintings and lithographs by artists including Picasso, Miró, Nespolo, Dalí, Carrara, Burri, Guttuso and de Chirico, with an original “Plan of Rome” created by Giovanni Battista Nolli in 1748.

With the addition of Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto, Jumeirah Group now has five luxury properties under management in Europe.

“Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto is an important and fitting addition to Jumeirah Group’s portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts,” said Executive Chairman Gerald Lawless. “It is also a key part of our global expansion plans following our hotel openings in Dubai, Frankfurt, Shanghai, the Maldives and Abu Dhabi this year. From a Dubai perspective, we are also encouraged that it coincides with the launch of Emirates Airlines’ A380 service to Rome.”
