JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa and Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort are now under new leadership with the appointment of Juan Carlos Calderon as the new complex general manager.
A 24-year Marriott veteran, Calderon’s background spans sales and marketing, revenue management, operations and owners relations, with experience in both regional and on-property roles.
“I am humbled and honored at the opportunity to lead these iconic Marriott properties in one of the world’s most desirable destinations. I am committed to elevating the JW Marriott experience as we celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, as well as answering the demand of the all-inclusive customer at the Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment for my team,” he said.
Most recently, Calderon served as hotel manager at the 1,000-room Marriott Marquis Houston. Prior to this, he was the general manager at the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Westlake Solana and then at the Marriott Dallas Downtown. Other positions and experience spanning the last 20+ years with Marriott include director of restaurants, director of room operations, area director of operations, Mid-West full-service hotels and area director of operations, Western Region select service hotels.
