SHIRDI, INDIA Parsvnath Hotels Ltd. has signed a management contract with Fortune Hotels, the midscale brand of ITC-Welcomgroup, for an upcoming hotel property in Shirdi, Maharashtra, India.
The 3-star, 58-key property will open in March as the first of 14 hotels under development in the region by Parsvnath Developers Ltd. “We have a strategy to have properties pan-India at all important religious, leisure and business destinations,” Deepak Mowar, Parsvnath’s vice president for hotels, retail and cinemas tells HospitalityBizIndia.com. “ Shirdi, being a popular religious and pilgrim destination, is short of quality hotels. We want to fill in that gap.”
Twelve other Parsvnath projects are expected to open by 2014 in India, including 5-star hotels in Hyderabad, Cochin, Goa and Lucknow.
