InterContinental Chicago to house Michael Jordan’s Steak House

CHICAGO Basketball icon Michael Jordan will lend his name to a new restaurant at InterContinental Chicago beginning this summer.

The 160-seat Michael Jordan’s Steak House will replace Zest at the Strategic Hotels & Resorts-owned property. “Zest is essentially a hotel dining room, and it really didn’t provide what that hotel needed, which is a very special occasion restaurant,” Richard Moreau, an executive vice president for Strategic, tells Chicago Tribune. Strategic will also own the restaurant.

The hotel will manage the restaurant under a licensing agreement. It will be the third Michael Jordan’s Steak House, joining outposts in New York City and at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun resort.

Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s.
