Indonesia’s ARTOTEL Group acquires Milestone Pacific Hotel Group

ARTOTEL Group, the Indonesia-based hospitality company, has strengthened its position in Indonesia with the acquisition of hotel operating and management company Milestone Pacific Hotel Group (MPHG).

MPHG has six brands — Maxone, Nite & Day, Zia, Ruma Ruma, Marc, and One of a Kind — and manages 45 hotels located in provinces and second-tier markets in Indonesia. The properties managed by MPHG mostly target the middle and economy-class markets.

By controlling MPHG’s majority stake, ARTOTEL now manages over 100 properties under different brands — ARTOTEL, Dafam, Kyriad, and Maxone.

Besides specializing in boutique hotels with art and lifestyle concepts, ARTOTEL now also provides a whole range of accommodation options, ranging from luxury, boutique to economical hotels to business and leisure travelers.

From managing 17 hotels in 2020, ARTOTEL Group saw a rapid pace of development in the past three years despite the pandemic impacting the tourism sector of Indonesia and globally. The company carried out aggressive expansion plans in 2021 by acquiring the Indonesia franchise of Kyriad, a brand created by the France-based Louvre Hotels Group and Dafam Hotel Management.

The company completed an undisclosed Series B financing in 2021, which was led by Indies Capital Partners, with participation from Benson Capital.

The company plans to add 50 more new hotel projects to its management portfolio between the first quarter of 2023 to 2025.

“The success we have achieved by managing more than 100 hotels makes us a bigger responsibility to provide the best service to our stakeholders, not only to our customers, guests or customers but also to hotel owners, employees and partners. Therefore, we have prepared a sustainable business strategy for increasing hotel revenues and the welfare of our stakeholders by prioritizing technology-based infrastructure, so that hotel operations become efficient and effective for guest satisfaction, as well as expanding our hotel’s distribution network to increase the revenue of each hotel we manage,” said Erastus Radjimin, founder and CEO of ARTOTEL Group.

Alongside carrying out an integration process to align its 100 managed hotels, the group has also updated its website.

ARTOTEL integrates four business units — hotel (stay), food and beverages (dine), event management (play) and curated merchandise (shop). In addition to its hotels throughout Indonesia, the group provides management services for restaurants, beach clubs and bars. Through its event management and merchandise units, the group aims to further the country’s talent by encouraging young artists through collaborations (in the form of exhibitions, workshops, performances and production of art-characterized merchandise).
