IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a partnership with FUJI KYUKO Co., Ltd. to convert Hotel Mount Fuji into the third Vignette Collection property in Japan.
Originally opened in 1963, the 150-room hotel sits atop Mount Odeyama at an elevation of 1,100 meters, overlooking Lake Yamanaka with views of Mount Fuji. The property will undergo extensive renovation before reopening as Hotel Mount Fuji, Vignette Collection. It joins RIGHA Royal Hotel Osaka and The Windsor Hotel TOYA in the brand’s Japan portfolio, which is part of a global footprint of more than 79 open and pipeline hotels.
The hotel features dining options, on-site hot springs, a sauna and swimming pool, with access to golf, lake cruises and nearby attractions including Oshino Hakkai, a World Heritage site. The property is approximately two hours from Tokyo by car, or two hours and 20 minutes by bus from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal.
“We’re delighted to partner with FUJI KYUKO Co., Ltd. for the first time to introduce a third iconic hotel in Japan to our Vignette Collection brand, said Abhijay Sandilya, managing director, Japan & Micronesia, IHG Hotels & Resorts and CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan. “Hotel Mount Fuji is a very special destination, a one-of-a-kind property steeped in history, in a stunning and unique location where guests experience never-to-be-forgotten stays.
