IHG Hotels & Resorts announced the signing Holiday Inn Resort Luang Prabang Naluang Hill, which is set to open in 2027. The resort will mark IHG’s debut in UNESCO-listed Luang Prabang and expand the company’s presence in Laos. Luang Prabang is a historic city in the north-central part of the country and located on a peninsula where the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers converge.
The signing establishes a partnership with Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited. The 101-key resort will introduce the Holiday Inn Resort brand to the former capital of Laos. Situated on Naluang Hill, the property will offer views over Luang Prabang and sit within reach of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ancient Town and cultural attractions.
The resort will feature the brand’s family-friendly experiences, including the Kids Stay & Eat Free program.

“Luang Prabang is one of Southeast Asia’s most captivating destinations, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty and enduring appeal among domestic and international travellers,” said Shi’ai Liang, senior director, development of Southeast Asia & Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “As demand for quality leisure travel experiences continues to grow across the region, we see significant opportunities in destinations that offer authentic cultural connections alongside exceptional hospitality. Beyond its strong leisure appeal, Luang Prabang is also benefiting from improving connectivity and growing demand for meetings, incentives and corporate retreats.
“Our partnership with Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited will introduce one of the most trusted and globally recognised hotel brands to Luang Prabang and support its continued growth as a leading leisure and meetings hub in Laos.”
Luang Prabang attracts visitors with its UNESCO-listed heritage, riverside setting, local culture and attractions including Mount Phousi, Kuang Si Falls, Pak Ou Caves and Mekong River experiences. Luang Prabang International Airport and high-speed rail links support regional connectivity.
The resort will have 101 guestrooms, suites and villas, four food and beverage venues, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa and more than 500 square meters of meeting space for small-to-medium-sized events and retreats.
