IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a three-hotel deal with Harilela Group, a Hong Kong-based hotel development and management company with a portfolio across Asia and Europe.
Under the franchise agreement, the 85-room The Hari London and 210-room The Hari Hong Kong will join IHG’s luxury & lifestyle collection brand, Vignette Collection. The agreement also includes the conversion of the 324-room Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre into The Hari Singapore, Vignette Collection, marking the brand’s debut in Singapore.
The deal extends a partnership between Harilela Group and IHG spanning more than five decades. The companies now collaborate across six hotels, including Holiday Inn Golden Mile in Hong Kong, which recently marked its 50th anniversary, Holiday Inn Express Changzhou Center and Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom.
The additions bring Vignette Collection’s global footprint to more than 80 open and pipeline hotels. The brand is tracking toward a goal of more than 100 hotels within its first decade. Recent openings include The One Shanghai Downtown, Vignette Collection; Palm Springs Hotel Chengdu, Vignette Collection and CIEL Dubai Marina, Vignette Collection, described as the world’s tallest hotel. Upcoming additions include Mangala Estate Kuantan, Vignette Collection and Vaagali Maldives, Vignette Collection.
“It is a privilege to celebrate more than five decades of partnership with Harilela Group,” said Rajit Sukumaran, senior VP and MD of East Asia & Pacific, IHG. “Since opening Holiday Inn Golden Mile over 50 years ago, we have built a relationship founded on trust, shared ambition and a commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality.
“Today’s announcement reaches an exciting new milestone as we extend our portfolio to six hotels in five world-class travel destinations, a testament to what we have achieved together.
“This landmark agreement introduces Vignette Collection to one of the world’s most strategically important gateway cities and expands its presence in both London and Hong Kong. The Hari Hotels are renowned for their distinctive and understated luxury stays, making them a natural fit for Vignette Collection. We look forward to welcoming guests to these unique hotels when they open.”
“We have a clear and ambitious vision for The Hari brand with plans to expand its footprint in major international destinations. The Hari Hotels embody a relaxed elegance punctuated by eccentricity, wit, culture and genuine heartfelt hospitality,” said Dr. Aron Harilela, chairman and CEO of Harilela Group.”Bringing our three The Hari Hotels into Vignette Collection provides a unified brand partnership opportunity, and a powerful platform for growth, combining the hotel’s individuality with the scale, global reach and commercial strength of IHG. We are confident that this partnership will further elevate the guest experience while driving strong performance and long-term value for our hotels.”
