IHG signs Hotel Indigo London, Kingston

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the signing of Hotel Indigo London – Kingston in the U.K.&I.

The 90-key conversion hotel is scheduled to open in 2027 in Hampton Wick. It will be the seventh Hotel Indigo in Greater London.

The hotel is owned by Westcombe Group, a new partner for IHG, through its Acre Hotels Collection. It is part of the adaptive reuse of Kingston Bridge House, a vacant former university accommodation building. The project includes the hotel and 22 residences. The signing adds to IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in the U.K.&I.

The hotel will have views over the River Thames and access to Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens and Richmond Park. The borough is home to headquarters of global companies, supporting demand from business and leisure travelers.

“We are delighted to welcome Westcombe Group to IHG and bring Hotel Indigo to the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in the UK,” said Willemijn Geels, VP of Development, Europe. “Hampton Wick’s rich history, riverside setting and strong local identity make it a natural fit for a brand that celebrates neighbourhood stories and authentic local experiences.”

“This signing reflects strong owner demand for Hotel Indigo in the UK&I and comes as we recently celebrated 200 open Hotel Indigo properties around the world. Together with Westcombe Group, we look forward to creating a distinctive hotel for guests and the local community, supported by IHG’s global scale and powerful enterprise.”

“This is a very exciting moment for Westcombe and for Hampton Wick,” said Kamal Pankhania, chief executive officer of Westcombe Group. “We are transforming a formerly vacant building into new homes, affordable housing and a five-star luxury hotel that will bring jobs, prosperity and thousands of visitors into the local area each year.”

“I am particularly proud that the hotel will be branded as Hotel Indigo, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ impressive worldwide portfolio of high-value hospitality assets. IHG is one of the most respected names in global hospitality, and we see this project as marking the start of a long and successful relationship between our two businesses here in the UK and overseas.”

“We look forward to creating a hotel that welcomes visitors and the local community, while generating employment and apprenticeship opportunities and working with local suppliers.”

Hotel Indigo is IHG’s boutique lifestyle brand. Launched in 2004, it grew from 100 open hotels in 2019 to its 200th hotel worldwide. Each property is inspired by the culture, character and stories of its local community. The brand has 201 open hotels and 134 in the pipeline globally, including 55 open hotels and 23 pipeline properties in Europe.

Recent U.K. openings include Hotel Indigo Gloucester – The Forum and Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush in Q1 2026. In Q2 2026, IHG signed Hotel Indigo Stockholm – Kvarnholmen, which will mark the brand’s debut in Sweden.
