IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Newhope Real Estate to bring the Regent brand to Chengdu, marking the brand’s debut in the city. The hotel is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2029.
Regent Chengdu will occupy Levels 39 through 48 of a 233-meter tower in Jinjiang District, near Chunxi Road, Tianfu Square and the city’s historic commercial core. The hotel will include 180 guestrooms and suites with views of the city skyline and the Jinjiang River. It is located within the D10 Wangjiang development.

Regent was founded in 1970 and is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio. IHG acquired Regent in 2018. The brand’s reimagining began with Regent Shanghai Pudong in 2020, followed by Regent Chongqing in 2021. There are now 11 Regent hotels and resorts open worldwide, totaling 3,212 rooms, with 12 properties in the pipeline totaling 2,210 rooms. In Greater China, Regent operates six hotels across Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Chongqing and Taipei.
