avid hotels, the midscale brand by IHG Hotels & Resorts, has achieved its milestone of 60th opened property with the debut of the new avid hotel Atlanta – Conyers I-20 in Conyers, Ga.
The opening of the 95-room avid hotel Atlanta – Conyers I-20 marks the sixth avid hotel in Georgia.
Owned by Comfort World USA LLC, the hotel is close to the historic Olde Town Conyers, Georgia International Horse Park and Cherokee Run Golf Club.
The hotel delivers what the brand is best known for — rooms with comfortable beds, sound-reducing design, a large fitness center and the complimentary Good all-around grab-and-go breakfast.
IHG’s fastest-growing and new-build brand saw 11 openings in 2022, with an additional 145 in the pipeline in the Americas market, including 16 currently under construction. avid hotels aims to quadruple its portfolio in the coming years, establishing its position in the midscale segment.

Since the launch of the brand in 2018, avid hotels has continued with its rapid expansion in North America. Currently, the brand is present across 24 states in the U.S.
avid made its debut in Canada in December 2022 with the opening of avid hotel Toronto – Vaughan Southwest, which operates under the ownership of PI Cap. More properties are anticipated to open in Canada, with upcoming properties in Woodstock, Belleville, Ontario and Lethbridge, Alberta.
avid opened its debut property in Canada and has grown its footprint in Mexico with three open hotels, Gilbride said.
The brand was introduced in Mexico in October 2022 with the opening of avid hotel Guadalajara Av. Vallarta Poniente. The 124-room hotel, owned by Grupo Ferran, is located within Plaza Epicentra and is the closest property to Akron Stadium.
Other recently opened hotels include avid hotels – Fort Wayne North and avid hotel Odessa Northwest. The brand is focused on expanding in the Americas, with properties presently open across the U.S. and Canada and new-to-market hotels opening in Tuscaloosa, Austin and Tulsa later this year.
