IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed 24 new Holiday Inn hotels across Greater China, expanding the brand’s footprint in key cities and regional markets including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhanjiang, Yinchuan, Hulunbeir, Nanchang and Yichang.
“Holiday Inn has played an important role in IHG’s journey in greater China. Since entering the market nearly 50 years ago, the brand has grown alongside the Greater China hospitality industry and continued to evolve with changing guest and market needs,” said Kent Sun, chief development officer of IHG Greater China. “Today’s signings reflect the strong confidence our hotel owners have in Holiday Inn’s long-term value and growth potential. Looking ahead, we will continue to leverage IHG’s global expertise and local capabilities to support our partners and drive the next phase of growth for Holiday Inn in Greater China.”
The new signings include Holiday Inn NECC Shanghai, positioned near the National Exhibition and Convention Center to serve business and MICE demand; Holiday Inn Shanghai Caohejing, located in a high-tech industry cluster; Holiday Inn Beijing Haidian Xibeiwang, serving business and leisure travelers in a connected urban area; and Holiday Inn Shenzhen Dapeng Jiaochangwei, located on the coast to serve destination leisure markets.
Through the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Suites sub-brands, the portfolio spans urban, resort and extended-stay markets.
The signings incorporate the Holiday Inn 3.0 concept, which combines brand consistency with flexibility through refreshed public spaces and upgraded guestrooms designed to serve business travelers, families and multi-generational groups.
Holiday Inn’s growth is supported by IHG’s development, operations and commercial resources, along with IHG One Rewards, a loyalty program with more than 160 million members.
Holiday Inn currently has more than 1,500 open and pipeline hotels globally, including 168 open hotels and 106 pipeline hotels in Greater China.
