Hyatt launches its soft brand, Unbound Collection

Hyatt Hotels Corp. on Wednesday jumped into the “soft brand” segment by launching The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, which will include new and existing upper-upscale and luxury properties that connect to Hyatt’s customer loyalty program, operational and marketing resources and the brand’s marketing muscle.

The first four hotels to join the Unbound are The Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas; the Hôtel du Louvre in Paris, France; the Carmelo Resort & Spa in Carmelo, Uruguay; and the Coco Palms Resort in Kauai, Hawaii, which is expected to undergo a renovation and re-open in spring 2018. Hyatt owns The Driskill, manages Hotel du Louvre and a structure is still being put in place for Coco Palms. The Carmelo is independently owned and operated.

“We are committed to creating a portfolio that works for owners and provides them with flexibility, agility, and support, all while accentuating the best of each property and the experiences that make each truly extraordinary,” said Hyatt President and CEO Mark Hoplamazian.

Hyatt said Unbound Collection properties will include historic urban hotels, contemporary trend-setters, boutique hotels and resorts that already have their own individual brand identities.
