HOOFDDORP, NETHERLANDS Hyatt Hotels Corp. is launching its select-service Hyatt Place brand in Europe with the announcement of Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport.
Under development by Hillgate Properties NV, the 330-key hotel near Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is expected to open in 2013. Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport will be located in Hoofddorp, 12 km from Amsterdam’s main international exhibition center.
“Introducing our select-service brands in Europe—which is the destination of more than 50% of international travelers—is key to our growth strategy, and we are confident that the Hyatt Place experience will have the same appeal to travelers in Europe as it does in the U.S.,” says Stephen G. Haggerty, Hyatt’s global head of real estate and development.
Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport will be Hyatt’s second property to open in Amsterdam and the Netherlands, following the expected opening of Andaz Amsterdam in 2012.
The five-year-old Hyatt Place brand has 160 hotels in the United States and more than 30 under development across North America, India, Panama and Costa Rica.
