HOTELS, Kendall College launch speaker series

HOTELS magazine is partnering with The Kendall College School of Hospitality Management in Chicago to launch the “Global Hospitality Spotlight: A Speaker Series,” which will serve to bring together industry thought leaders and trendsetters who will share ideas and insights on the hospitality industry’s critical issues.

The first event features a presentation by Edwin Fuller, president and managing director of Marriott International’s International Lodging Division, on Tuesday, December 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Kendall College campus in Chicago. The event also features a Q&A session moderated by Jeff Weinstein, editor in chief of HOTELS Magazine.

Fuller has served as Marriott International’s president and managing director of the International Lodging Division since 1991. His strategic leadership led to the founding of more than 400 hotels in more than 70 countries located across six continents. During his tenure, gross sales have increased from US$325 million to US$7 billion.

“We are delighted to partner with HOTELS Magazine to present this lecture series to the professional hospitality management community,” said School of Hospitality Management Dean Jeffrey Catrett. “Our goal is to bring together industry thought leaders to analyze and discuss the trends and issues facing our dynamic industry. We’re pleased to launch the program with an industry veteran and accomplished author like Edwin Fuller, and look forward to continuing to provide a platform for many more influential speakers in the future.”

The registration fee for the event is US$25, and includes breakfast and a copy of Fuller’s book, “You Can’t Lead With Your Feet on the Desk: Building Relationships, Breaking Down Barriers and Delivering Profits.” Online registration is available at hospitality.kendall.edu/spotlight. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Kendall College Charitable Trust, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing financial support for students of need enrolled at Kendall College.

Kendall College’s School of Hospitality Management focuses on the art of hospitality and the science of management – the European tradition of superior customer service with American managerial know-how.
