Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, part of the Leading Hotels of the World, has appointed Klaus Kabelitz as general manager, succeeding Serge Ethuin, who has led the property for over ten years and is now retiring.
With an extensive career in luxury hospitality across Europe and the United States, Kabelitz will bring his expertise and vision to the hotel in the Principality of Monaco. Since September 2024, he has served as general manager of The Kensington in London, part of The Doyle Collection. Previously, he served as hotel director aboard Seabourn Quest, overseeing all hotel operations and supporting its post-pandemic relaunch.
Kabelitz has also managed The Biltmore Mayfair for LXR Hotels & Resorts, as well as The Cadogan London for Belmond, where he oversaw its opening. His career has also taken him to El Encanto in Santa Barbara, CA., also within the Belmond group, and to Le Richemond in Geneva as part of the Dorchester Collection. He further dedicated nearly fourteen years to The Maybourne Hotel Group, notably as general manager of The Berkeley, after beginning his career as rooms division manager at Claridge’s. He started his career with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Hilton International.
“Joining Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo is a true honour. It embodies a unique art of living, where history meets contemporary elegance. Together with the teams, whose talent and commitment I greatly admire, we will strive to further enhance the influence of this exceptional property and enrich the experience of each of our guests,” said Kabelitz.
