Hotel Indigo Tallahassee adds Stadium Tower

Urban Street Development announced the completion of the Stadium Tower expansion of Hotel Indigo Tallahassee CollegeTown, increasing the property to 237 rooms and adding new retail space. The expansion brings 94 guestrooms, including six two-bedroom suites, and 5,500 square feet of frontage retail to the existing 143-room hotel. The property is now open ahead of graduation season at Florida State University and Florida A&M University.

Located at 826 W. Gaines Street, the hotel sits in CollegeTown facing Doak Campbell Stadium and near campus sports complexes, Tallahassee Airport and downtown destinations. The location also places guests near restaurants, nightlife and activity within the district.

“We’ve seen firsthand that demand to be near the CollegeTown district extends well beyond football season, from graduation and move-in weekends to family visits, university events and activity throughout the city,” said Alan Hooper, co-founder of Urban Street Development. “This expansion is a response to that momentum. It gives the Hotel Indigo the ability to welcome more guests, offer more flexibility and continue building an experience that feels elevated, well-located and connected to the energy of the district.”

The hotel offers standard rooms and suites, on-site dining at R&R Eatery, meeting space, a 24-hour fitness center and on-site parking for families, alumni, business travelers, legislative and event guests.

The retail space fronts the Gaines Street and Woodward Avenue roundabout and includes a covered patio and street frontage suited for a food and beverage operator.

“There are very few locations in Tallahassee where a food and beverage operator can step into this kind of high visibility and steady traffic flow from the outset,” said Tim Petrillo, co-founder of Urban Street Development. “Between the hotel, the universities and the surrounding district, this area is one of the strongest locations in the market for steady traffic throughout the week, not just on game days.”

The hotel is operated by Park Place Hospitality Group under the Hotel Indigo brand by IHG. A grand opening event is scheduled for May 21, 2026.
