The Westin Xian has opened in China’s Shaanxi province.

In addition to 329 rooms and 32 one- to two-bedroom apartments, the hotel includes a museum with more than 2,000 artifacts.

Neri & Hu Design gave the property a Tang dynasty architectural style. The property spans nearly 60 acres (24 hectares), including the hotel, museum, and a shopping center. The 80,000-sq-ft (7,432-sq-m) main building includes a covered porch and a garden courtyard.

The Xian Qujiang Museum of Fine Arts at The Westin Xian is open to the general public as well as to guests. The 7,000-sq-ft (650-sq-m) museum includes three special exhibition halls. The antiquities on display include mural paintings that depict Chinese history, a gold suit of armor, and a stone Buddha head that is nearly one meter high. The museum also currently houses an exhibit of Ming and Qing dynasty porcelain, on loan from the Nanjing museum.

The Seasonal Tastes restaurant offers fresh cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, led by Executive Chef Birol Dincli. The menu includes Westin’s SuperFoods Rx offerings. Zen5es restaurant will serve Cantonese dishes when it opens in July, and Mai offers modern Japanese cuisine. Daily Treats serves coffee and light bites. The Lobby Lounge offers views of the Great Wild Goose Pagoda along with cocktails or tea.

The Westin Xian also includes a WestinWorkout gym and indoor swimming pool, a Heavenly Spa by Westin and more than 35,520 sq ft (3,300 sq m) of event space.

The Westin Xian is located in the city’s Qujiang tourism district, directly opposite the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
