Dubai’s opulent Burj Al Arab hotel unveiled its Burj Al Arab Terrace, a private leisure facility that stretches 100 meters into the Persian Gulf.
The structure was developed by construction company ADMARES and built at a shipyard site in Finland, then transported in eight pieces via ship to Dubai. The 10,000-square-meter facility incorporates Scape Restaurant & Bar, two pools, butler-serviced cabanas, and a beach area with day and sunbeds.
The terrace was designed to reflect the shape of the hotel. Linked by a central walkway, flanked on either side by beaches and private cabanas, it gives an effect of a tropical forest canopy. It uses a palette of white and earth tones.
The design incorporates a 612-square-meter freshwater pool and an 828-square-meter saltwater infinity pool. Both are lined with a total of 10 million mosaic tiles in shades of azure and gold; 1,000 tons of white sand went into the creation of the beach. Set among the pools are four Jacuzzis and a swim-up bar.
At Scape Restaurant & Bar, which features commissioned light installations, head chef Timur Fazilov serves Californian fusion style dishes.
Available for hotel guests and members, the 32 air-conditioned cabanas, overlook Palm Jumeirah, the Terrace and the Dubai skyline. They offer butler service, a dining, beverage and bar menu, spa menu, mini-bars, fresh fruits, espresso machines, TVs and a rotating amenity cycle with four to six varieties per day. The eight Royal Cabanas include a private bathroom, shower area and veranda.
