Earlier this month, Shangri-La, Doha, opened in the commercial district of West Bay in Qatar. The hotel was designed to resemble a falcon’s head and is adorned with museum-quality artwork on loan from the Sheikh Faisal Collection.

Shangri-La, Doha, includes 272 guestrooms and suites as well as 42 serviced apartments. All accommodations feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a Wi-Fi-enabled “smart TV” and marble bathrooms.
The Horizon Cub Lounge is located on the hotel’s 42nd floor and offers private check-in service for suite guests, all-day refreshments and panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Other food and beverage outlets include Fuego, the only restaurant in the city to serve certified Argentine Kobe beef; Yabby, serving seafood; Sridan, offering all-day interactive dining; and the Shanghai Club, set to open later in 2016 and serving authentic Chinese cuisine.
Other amenities include a European-inspired piano lounge, a spa, a health club, event and meeting space, and a pool.
