The beachfront resort and casino Revel is now open in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The resort boasts 1,898 guestrooms and suites with ocean views, along with 10 pools, gardens, more than a dozen restaurants, live entertainment, nightclubs, boutiques, and a 32,000 sq ft (2,973 sq m) spa.

The US$2.4 billion resort spans 6.3 million sq ft (585,289 sq m) and 47 floors.

Revel is divided into entertainment levels. Revelry, which is 61 ft (19 m) above sea level, has restaurants, shops, nightclubs, a dayclub, a casino and a performance space called The Social that can accommodate 700 guests.

At 87 ft (27 m) above sea level, The Mezz includes a poker room; The Think Tank, which has 160,000 sq ft (14,864 sq m) of indoor and outdoor meeting space; and Ovation Hall, a theater that can hold 5,500 people.

The Resort begins at 114 ft (35 m) above sea level with The Lobby. The Lobby offers almost two acres (0.8 hectares) of outdoor space including the SkyGarden and a pool that is both indoors and outdoors. The Lobby also includes The O2, which has six living rooms and several bars.

Revel’s restaurant concepts feature a number of award-winning chefs. Jose Garces has Amada, an Andalusian tapas bar; Village Whiskey, which serves spirits, cocktails and American dishes; and Distrito Cantina, a margarita bar offering modern Mexican street food. American Cut is Marc Forgione’s take on a modern American steakhouse, while Robert Wiedmaier draws on old-world Belgium as inspiration for the gastropub Mussel Bar. Alain Allegretti’s Azure by Allegretti serves up seafood.

Michel Richard has three restaurants: the modern bistro Central Michel Richard; O Bistro and Wine Bar, which serves small plates as well as entrees at a circular bar; and O Bistro Dining Room, which has both seated à la carte dishes and “grab and go” options. Lugo, LDV Hospitality brings la dolce vita to Revel with Lugo Cucina e Vino, and The One Group’s One dishes up high-energy American cuisine in a rock’n’roll atmosphere. Local press reports indicate that Luke Palladino will open Luke’s Kitchen & Marketplace around July 4.

Bask, the spa developed by exhale mind body spa, features a 3,000-sq-ft (279-sq-m) coed bathhouse, 32 therapy rooms, a gym, and the Bathhouse Bar, which serves healthy bites and organic wines.
