Regent Hotels & Resorts is debuting Regent Chongqing in late December in the city’s Jiangbeizui financial district, at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers.
Regent is calling the hotel, managed by Regent and owned by Casin Group, the city’s first urban resort. The 202-room hotel includes 21 suites that average 182 square meters in size. The guestrooms offer spacious five-fixture bathrooms, and most rooms offer river views.

The hotel’s modern design elements reflect the economic importance of the city in modern China and pay homage to the city’s past, including in the traditional building materials used for centuries in the Sichuan province – ceramic, jade, metal and lacquer.
The interiors feature art by Lee Eun, Korean ceramic artist; Donnie Pan, Taiwanese metal artist; Yi Meng; and Jessica Drenk, an American sculptor.
Regent Chongqing offers three restaurants and two bars. The Bar Lounge, the Outdoor Rooftop Bar on the fifth floor, and an all-day dining restaurant, Yu Kitchen, serving à la carte and buffet menus in a variety of Asian cuisines. Lijing Shuen, with large private dining rooms, specializes in modern Sichuan cuisine, traditional Cantonese dishes and roast duck. Robin’s Grill & Teppanyaki is a specialty steak and teppanyaki restaurant with an extensive wine cellar.
The hotel’s event space totals to 1,800 square meters and accommodates up to 1,000 guests. There are six function rooms and the Regent Ballroom, each with river views. Additionally, the resort has a fully- quipped health and gym, spa with sauna, a Jacuzzi and indoor heated swimming pool.
