The Berlin-based Leonardo Hotels has opened its first Scottish property in Edinburgh with the 282-room Royal Hotel.
Leonardo sunk some €7 million (US$7.8 million) in the refurbishment of the hotel, a former Premier Inn.
The 4-star hotel’s design comes from the German interior designer Andreas Neudahm, who doesn’t skimp on the plaid and Scottish-themed furnishings in the hotel’s guestrooms and public areas.
The hotel is located close to both the Edinburgh International Conference Centre and the under-construction tHe Haymarket development. The hotel also offers more than 90 parking spaces.
