IHG has made its Kimpton foray into Europe with the Kimpton De Witt in Amsterdam.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants was acquired by IHG in 2015. IHG has since announced the further expansion of the brand across Europe with its second Kimpton hotel set to open in Paris in 2020.

Dutch design largely drives the new 274-room Kimpton De Witt, which includes nine signature suites in the property’s original Golden Age buildings. The hotel’s entrance has a living wall of vibrant florals and botanicals, while bedrooms are decorated with classic Dutch art, while blue tiles pave the bathroom floors.

Within the property stands a three-story Little House, which dates back to the 1600s and was once the childhood home of the Dutch playwright, P.C. Hooft. Little House offers two king-sized rooms and a first floor living room. Kimpton De Witt’s signature suite, Penthouse De Witt, is split over two stories and its almost 100-square-foot roof terrace has views of the city and canal house rooftops.

Guests have access to a fitness center, yoga mats in every room and a complimentary all-day tea station in the lobby. Guests are additionally provided with complimentary bikes and a hosted social hour every evening gives guests the chance to socialize in the public areas.

Next to the hotel, Wyers Bar & Restaurant, from Executive Chef Sam DeMarco offers American staples with Dutch influences, while House Bar provides craft cocktails as well as an extensive menu of local gins and genevers. The hotel also has a café option, Miss Louisa Coffee & Beignets, which has locally roasted coffee and fresh sugar-dusted beignets.
