Hot Openings: Hotel Zamora to bring Spanish feel to Florida

The Hotel Zamora, the first new hotel in St. Pete Beach, Florida, in more than 20 years, is slated to debut next month.

Influenced by the architecture, design and feel of the rocky hills of Zamora, Spain, the waterfront hotel will feature Mediterranean-style rooms and suites with high ceilings, crown molding, arched windows and Spanish-influenced touches in its wooden doorways and artwork.

The Hotel Zamora will also introduce Castile, a Spanish-influenced restaurant and rooftop lounge helmed by Executive Chef Ted Dorsey. Castile’s locally sourced, seafood-inspired menu will include a large selection of tapas-style dishes, soups, salads and entrees such as coconut-curry braised short rib with sides including yucca-chorizo hash and queso cotija fingerling potatoes.

The hotel also offers meeting and conference space, a marina with space for seven boats, fresh-water pool, fitness center and access to the Gulf of Mexico’s white-sand beaches.

Tatro Construction built the hotel, which features architectural design by Design Styles. Cuba-Fernandez Design orchestrated the interior design concept of both the hotel and restaurant.
