Generator is branching out with a hotel and hostel combination—the brand’s first—that is now open in Barcelona.
The flagship property is Generator’s first in Spain.
In addition to 114 hostel rooms, 40 hotel rooms on the upper floors offer private terraces with views over the city’s skyline toward the Mediterranean Ocean. Overall, the property can accommodate 726 guests in a variety of rooms, including private twins, dorm-style rooms, and female-only rooms.
Anwar Mekhayech of Toronto-based The Design Agency worked with local architects on the interiors, which draw inspiration from the surrounding Gràcia neighbourhood and the city as a whole. The décor includes bespoke art commissioned through a competition.
Generator Barcelona also offers a photo booth, table soccer, pool, a bar and cafe, a free walking tour, internet access, and laundry facilities.
Generator is backed by Patron Capital and includes eight properties in six countries.
