Hot Openings: Croatian hotel focuses on design

Hotel Lone, the 248-key property newly opened in the Istrian resort of Rovinj, Croatia, was designed as a contemporary expression of a classic Croatian resort hotel. The first Croatian member of Design Hotels, the property is the work of the 3LHD architectural team from the Croatian Faculty of Architecture under the guidance of architect Silvije Novak in addition to Croatian interior designer Numen.

“We believe the space in the hotel is almost perfectly organized,” Novak said. “The characteristic ‘Y’ shape floor plan of the hotel has enabled effective and functional organization of hotel facilities, a lovely view from all rooms and planning of public facilities around the central, five-floor-high atrium of the hotel.”

The 5-star Hotel Lone, a Maistra property, is located near the Adriatic Sea and the center of Rovinj, and is surrounded by Park Forest Zlatni Rt. Rates start at US$147 (€102).
