The Tilden Hotel in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood opened in October. The lobby of the hotel on Taylor Street is designed for socializing, working, meeting and celebrating with large-scale furniture.
It takes design cues from the Spanish Mission revival architecture of Northern California. Arches in the lobby maintain a spacious feeling while demarcating different gathering areas.
The lobby features two Harvey Prober sofas, including a custom-built “deep tuft” sofa. Solid cherry wood walls are reminiscent of Craftsman-style homes found throughout California, while custom furniture has been designed by Studio Tack and crafted by Oakland-based designer Christopher Naefke.
